After returning home from Zambia I have become much more aware of my surroundings. I've noticed thing about myself, my family, society, schools and how somethings are not given the credit that is deserved. I'm very appreciative for the opportunity to go on this trip with Buffalo State. Seeing all aspects of the school system was the most heart warming for me, the students, administration, teacher, academic planning and more. I had the wonderful opportunity to teach a third grade class of 82 students that was very full filling. I look forward to using the teaching skills such as classroom management and more that I learned in Africa.

Had the pleasure of going to an orphanage today. It was a humbling experience that I very much appreciated.
Well today was my last day teaching in Africa and I received a wonderful surprise. Yesterday I taught the students how to do fractions and today one of the students made a picture of me teaching fractions.
The first lesson I gave the students was how to say I LOVE YOU in American Sign Language. I'm very appreciative for this opportunity and how welcoming the students and faculty are!
Today I met the 3rd grade class that I will be working with for the next couple of weeks. I can honestly say I have never felt so loved and welcomed in my life. I am very appreciative for this opportunity in Zambia.
I have my donation luggage for the kids in Zambia packed I hope to add more to it later in the week. I'm starting to get butterfly's filled with excitement I can't wait to meet the children in Zambia.

AuthorI'm 22 years old and have been working at my current daycare for 2 years now. I love working with children and look forward to meeting the children and culture in Zambia this summer. I'm most excited to experience how the school system in Zambia functions and apply their curriculum. I'm excited and ready to learn and embrace everything Zambia has to offer me. ArchivesCategories |
