I find it remarkable that I have the opportunity to study abroad for a second travel experience through IPDS (International Professional Development Schools). Truly, I am thankful for the continuous support from the School of Education and my professors who have made life changing moments like these possible! Many thanks!
As a future educator, I find it especially important to become as globalized as can be. To me, the word “globalized” involves learning about our world and experiencing different cultures. So far, I have done just that in order to learn about my future students cultural backgrounds, language and ways of life when I traveled to Chile in 2017. Now, I am eager to take my next steps to immerse myself into the culture of Zambia! There certainly is an abundance of information to be learned in life. The most extraordinary part about learning is that it is continuous and never ending. Throughout my blog posts, I will be reflecting upon my experiences, sharing photos, and making it seem as if you are traveling right along with me! Most importantly, I intend to share lessons learned about the teaching profession and ways that I can make my own classroom environment stronger to benefit my students. Culture definitely should be something that is cherished; I want my students to know that they are loved, belong and feel safe. Come along with me on my journey to Zambia, Africa! I am looking forward to experiencing another learning experience of a lifetime!
